Dubai, UAE: More than 100 automotive aftermarket professionals from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) attended a two-day Automechanika Roadshow in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as they look at ways to boost interregional business ties with the vibrant Middle East.
 

The Automechanika Roadshow to the CIS made its first stop in Kazakhstan’s capital city Astana, before moving onto Tashkent, Uzbekistan to analyse recent trends and future opportunities in the two vast automotive aftermarkets.

Global Automotive Aftermarket Players Turn to Automechanika Dubai 2017

Dubai, UAE: An upward trend of both vehicle sales and spare parts demand across the Middle East has been welcomed by global automotive aftermarket players, as they ready themselves for the return of the region’s largest automotive service industry trade fair in Dubai.

While macroeconomic factors negatively impacted vehicle sales in 2016, analysts Frost & Sullivan expect renewed growth from 2017 onwards.  According to their research, new car sales in the Middle East is estimated to grow nine per cent annually, reaching 4.4 million by 2020, and bringing the total number of vehicles in operation to 44.5 million.

Messe Frankfurt Middle East Announces Launch of Automechanika Riyadh 2018

Dubai, UAE: Messe Frankfurt Middle East has announced the launch of Automechanika Riyadh 2018, as the region’s leading exhibition organiser expands its presence further in the Kingdom’s vast automotive aftermarket. 

Automechanika Riyadh will take place from 5-7 February 2018 at the Riyadh Exhibition Centre, and will run every two years.  The three-day event will alternate between the existing Messe Frankfurt-organised Automechanika Jeddah, which will now become a biennial event, with the 3rd edition taking place in 2019.

By 2020, one in five vehicles on the road across the world will have some form of wireless network connection, according to Gartner. But despite the growing market for connected vehicles, cybersecurity does not appear to be a top concern. A recent report by KPMG found that two-thirds of automakers hadn’t invested in information security over the past year. The same report, which surveyed 450 consumers, found that 82 percent would be wary of purchasing a vehicle from an automaker if that automaker had been hacked.
